ACC’s Animal Origin-Free BET Solution Helps Customers Advance Their Sustainability Goals
PyroSmart NextGen® is ACC’s recombinant technology that replicates the LAL enzyme cascade without requiring horseshoe crab blood. It was the first commercially available complete recombinant cascade reagent (rCR) on the market and provides an innovative BET solution with better results than traditional reagents, using no animal content. Recombinant reagents made from animal-free proteins are accepted for endotoxin testing under USP Chapter <86>, making it easier for ACC customers to transition to this sustainable option for BET.

Our Horseshoe Crab Sustainability Project was founded by partnering with local regulators and fisheries. Using our patent-pending process, we collect horseshoe crab eggs, fertilize them, grow them, and strategically release them into their natural environment.
