For Beta-D-Glucan Lab Tests
Fungal culture is often considered the gold standard for laboratory diagnosis of fungal infections, yet it can take days to obtain actionable information from culture tests. Beta-D-glucan lab tests like Fungitell® and Fungitell STAT® offer rapid, reliable results, improving clinical decision-making and reducing rates of mortality.
Both tests, however, require hardware and software components to be successfully executed. Fungitell® is designed for batch testing of up to 21 patients, making it ideal for large institutions and reference laboratories with high sample numbers. The quantitative test is run in a standard incubating plate reader and uses software to collect kinetic data.
Fungitell STAT® offers a lower-throughput qualitative alternative that enables testing of one or more patient specimens in approximately an hour. It relies on an 8-well incubating tube reader and integrated software that collects and processes data from the tube reader, stores the information in a database, and produces test result reports.
